Dean Laninovic
After over 20 years of professional volleyball and 280 appearances for the Croatian National Team, being one of the most successful Croatian volleyball players and captain of the national team, I have retired from professional sports and dedicated myself completely to entrepreneurship and management, areas in which I have been gaining experience during the entire sports career. I demonstrated leadership skills and understanding of leadership on the court as the captain of AOK Mladost, Montpellier, Bilzen, Hotvolley, Innsbruck,Croatian national volleyball team, and later by leading Croatian youth national team as a coach. I believe doing sport brings invaluable experience to all the aspects of life and business. It teaches you to win, lose, celebrate, be sad and fight.
As market communications specialist with a degree in sports marketing and a PhD candidate in the field of human resources, I transfer sport spirit and philosophy to business and relationships. Also, as creative, I incline to psychology as an additional interest and integrate my knowledge through customized trainings on motivation and team leading. These days you can find me on a golf course, in the woods or at sea diving. In addition, I am a family man that pays attention to nutrition and I live a healthy sport life.
I’m co-author of the Orbimetry (Metrics of Organizational Behavior) book that contains 90 tests to help you answer questions such as:
Who are our employees, what do they do and where do they come from? Are they just a name, family name and number in employee records?
We’re familiar with what they know and don’t know. What have they learned so far and why did they learn it? What are they learning now? What do they want to learn? How to encourage them? What would we like and need from them to learn? How successful are they in passing on their knowledge to others? And many other issues that will help you better understand the people you work with and who work for you.
